Naming Best Practices

GE Aerospace, formerly GE Aviation, has gone through rapid growth from the 1960s. With growth came increased complexity of what they offered and how they communicated all they offered.

GE Aerospace asked us to evaluate what and how they name across their commercial engine business and to codify their approach to naming in a best practice document.

Our work was based, in part, on the GE companywide naming best practice document we wrote for all of GE, and included the role of naming, what to name, how to name, and with what tools.
